As a straight-A student in the midst of using Edgenuity, optimization is as worse as it can get for a platform. It's remotely impossible to be efficient by utilizing it, and there are far better alternatives for many of the subjects it teaches. Not only is severe adaption difficult for students, but it can also be detrimental to their future.
From first-hand experience I saw my younger brother fail Edgenuity - crying, mentally breaking down, begging for help - all while being a fourth-grader. If you're thinking about enrolling your child, especially elementary students, then think twice. The source material is obsolete at best.
A lot of what it covers has not been streamlined more usefully ever since the mids, and as such, is not up-to-date compared to other online academies. Their instructors are more enjoyable in contrast to many of the brass-induced Edgenuity ones.
If you or your child are in the midst of a personal learning experience due to the pandemic, I'd heavily suggest transferring to conventional virtual learning if available. In conjunction with the many other reviews that criticize Edgenuity, I would opt out as soon as possible if it's in the realm of possibility.

My daughter suffers from depression and struggles because the videos down loaded would not upload. This was emotional torture to my daughter. Does Edgenuity care they affect these kids! They are already stressed out with everything that is going on. Also the teacher never replied to emails the new teacher. She did have one good teacher but they replaced him with another.
I do not recommend at all. Edgenuity you are supposed teach our kids not send them into a mental breakdown. Probably the worst service ive ever seen you have to watch 20 minutes videos which you cannot skip.
I am a student who has been put on Edgenuity as a remote option and I had no problems until the classwork became impossible to complete on time or to keep 'on track' as they call it. The instructional videos are overly long and do not prepare the student of the questions that follow. I have sent several screenshots of Edgenuity having incorrect answers to easy questions and recently have been wrongly accused of plagiarism on an essay I had to write.
