Reviewer: taylorroan - favorite favorite favorite favorite favorite - November 30, Subject: Great Reading I am halfway through this book. It is great! I appreciate the reading too. They did a wonderful job for volunteers. I never imagined that I would get such a wonderful book for free! Thank you so much for making this. I am thoroughly enjoying it. Reader EM: in the future, you might consider not starting sentences really loud, then trailing off at the end. Also, maybe it was your intended character, but the nasal sound was difficult to listen to, so you might try another character voice and see if that works better.

Great job guys! I agree with the comments on here -- The story itself is excellent. Marlo Dianne overdramatizes her entire part, reading so slooooowly and voluuuuptuously, that she sounds like she's reading for Hustler Forum. Same to the fellow who read Jonathon's Harker's part, in the scene where he is about to be bit by the three vampiresses in Dracula's castle.

Sorry to be harsh, but these two generous volunteers, were actually painful to listen to. Thank you for having a forum to vent about this, because I actually got to the point of talking aloud to the recording, so annoyed and distracted by how bad a couple of the "performances" were.

A for effort -- C- for execution. And then dismayed anew as Ms. Marlo Dianne returned for the final chapters 26 and 27 the worst reading of the whole book - her portrayal of Dr. The only reason I endured it, was to find out the end of the story! Some are very good but most are awful. Every time Van Helsing's diary is read a different accent is used. Every person tried to fake an accent and it is was at times unintelligible.

Some volunteers have background noise such as the sound of ice cubes in a glass full of drink, a harsh sudden noise as if rough fabric were rubbing against the microphone. I can't get past the reader's voice, and i can barely understand the reader. I wish someone would reread this story. I really love the story. Reviewer: Anupama - July 19, Really nice audiobook. But I agree that some other reader should have been chosen for Dr. Van Helsing sounds amazing! Reviewer: User - May 21, All the readers were completely great--Elizabeth Klett is my favorite narrator on this site, and she is, characteristically, wonderful as Mina.

Reviewer: Allison - February 10, Very good work by all the readers; however i wish they would have chosen a different reader for Seward who speaks more than anyone else in the book. He does a great job in reading, but his voice is just a little disturbing. He sounds just like the teacher in "Clueless" and that's the only face I could see while he was reading. I can see the Yoda thing, though. Reviewer: Laura - December 21, Subject: Good This is a good audiobook, however, some of the narrators are hard to listen to Dr.

Seward and Jonathan Harker. Reviewer: lea - August 19, Subject: All readers - great job! I was surprised by how much i enjoyed this book, and ALL readers - well done! I disagree with those saying the reader for Dr Seward and Van Helsing sound like Yoda, while vaguely similar in tone, i thought he did a great job of conveying the emotion and persona of the characters and gravitas of the situations. Ditto for MB, who cast a wonderfully somber and chilling tone in Harker's journals.

Recommended to all! Seward annoyed me to no end! I love this book, my favorite of all time! The narrators were wonderful but Dr. Seward and Van Helsing's voice were just the worst! YODA is all I could think about Nina, you have a fantastic reading voice, and read aloud as if not reading from a book. Out of the other character reading I have heard in this book and others, you should read for more books! Please read for more books!

Reviewer: Jake. A - May 15, Subject: All voice acting great effort Big hand to all the voice actors on this one, keeping each voice the same the whole way through.

I must add MB was fantastic! Start of the book was by far my favorite and MB did a fine job of making the setting feel like you were really in Transylvania, speaking with both a ghastly yet formal tone with appropriate character emotion.
